Tasmania, Australia
Tasmania is a state located on the South Eastern side of Australia.
Tasmania comprises the Tasmanian Island and surrounding islands.
It is in mainly natural state and a large percentage of the land
is natural reserves, National Parks and World Heritage Sites.
The Tasmanian summer starts December through to February and you
can expect temperatures to average 21 °C (70 °F). Winter falls from
June to August.. The climate on the islands mean you will find a
diverse variety of flora and fauna, from tall evergreen eucalyptus
forests, alpine heathlands and large areas of rainforest and moors.
Many large events take place in and around Tasmania, encouraging
visitors to take part or simply watch the festivities. Eventa include
the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Starting on Boxing Day in Sydney,
those taking part usually arrive at Constitution Dock in Hobart
around 3/4 days later, during the Hobart Summer Festival.
The Targa Tasmania road rally attracts world-class rally drivers
and is staged all over the state, over five days. This event is
held in late April or early May.
Taste of Tasmania takes place at New Year, it is an annual food
and wine festival and takes place in Hobart.
