City Watch House
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be arrested? The Watch House Experience is a forty minute interactive experience like no other. With a Charge Sergeant as guide, visitors are ‘arrested’ and encounter what it is like to be locked up. Nothing has changed in this minimalist site since the police and inmates left in the 1990's. After the role play, visitors self guide through the watch house taking in sound points and multi media imagery that is educational and informative. Part of the Old Melbourne Gaol experience.

Old Magistrates' Court
Why not put your Dad on trial. Stand in the dock, sit in the Judge’s chair or join in the crowd in the public gallery. Feel the tension and drama that was played out during thousands of hearings in this iconic court. Court number one was arguably the most famous of the original 3 that stand on the site of the former Supreme Court of Victoria – the place Ned Kelly was sentenced to death by Judge Redmund Barry. Court one holds this title because of its proximity to the City Watch House where from 1911 to 1994, many of Victoria’s most notorious criminals were taken for committal and bail hearings after being locked up in the Watch House. These characters range from the historic such as the gangster Squizzy Taylor to more contemporary felons such as Julian Knight. Part of the Old Melbourne Gaol experience.
